Berkshire Vision

About us

We provide vital practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families in Berkshire. Helping to develop confidence and live independent lives safely.

Our services

  • Home visits
After an initial phone call, we can come to your home and tell you more about how we can help and the wide range of social, leisure and sporting activities on offer as a Berkshire Vision Member.

  • Children and family support
We also support friends and families, including parents and siblings of the person affected by sight loss.

  • 18-35 plus social group
This group was set up to support young adults with their transition into adulthood. Regular get-togethers include pub visits, meals out and concerts.

  • Clubs
Our activities programme is designed to encourage and maximise getting out into the community. Activities provide access to entertainment and leisure activities most of us take for granted and there's something for everyone, from boat trips, walks with a pub lunch, theatre trips and lots more.

  • Sport
We run seven social clubs across Berkshire, from Hungerford to Slough and everywhere in between. We meet monthly for lunch, entertainment and a chat, we can also provide transport.

  • Activities
We do everything from fishing, to tandem cycling, cricket, tennis, dragon boating racing, ballroom dancing and lots more, for all ages and abilities.

  • Resources
Our office is equipped with resources that can help with lots of things when you've lost your sight, from reading the paper to safely making a cup of tea. Book an appointment to pop by and find out more and try them out or contact us if you need us to bring them to you. We can also refer and signpost you to our partners including RNIB and Guide Dogs.
